Being good in the dining room

Wearing my new backpack

written by Elizabeth & Richard Messerly

Hi, Everybody!!
Brutus here, formerly known as "Tovan"!  Just wanted to check in with you all and let you know that I'm turning into a Big Boy!  I've been through Beginners Obedience Training and even have a Certificate thing.  I'm not sure what that is, but I know I'm not allowed to eat it.  :-(
My Mom and Dad (you may know them as Elizabeth and Richard) have let me out of my room and roam the house with them when I'm very good.  Personally, I think I'm always very good, but I guess that depends on who is in charge (hrrumph, it's never ME!)
I'm sitting in the Dining Room - learning how not to serve myself from the table.  Don't I look like an innocent, good boy??
I really love my forever home.  I even have my own personal kitty cat.  She smacks me regularly when I get out of line, but she's really fun to chase. (Meoooow - PC here, I have to interject - being chased is NOT fun!)
Oops, I'm not supposed to play on the computer so I'll put Mom on...
We are quite the proud parents - Brutus has responded so well to training.  He walks nicely on the leash.  We're still working on toning down his enthusiasm when coming across new people and animals, but that will come in time.
He's such an adorable and loving baby - we don't think he has a mean bone in his body.
To all the wonderful folks at ATRA (Airedale Terrier Rescue), Lynn, Connie, Barb:  Thank You for sharing this beautiful little creation.  He's absolutely a joy!

More tidbits...

Hi, Guys and Gals!
Brutus here again!  I am such a proud puppy!!  Try as she might, my mom just can't keep up with me on our walks.  I love the outdoors so much and want to keep going and going!  So my second bestest guy friend, Marc (Dad's always firstest, you know) from Canine Resolution (yup, shameless plug for a GREAT trainer) suggested that mom get me a backpack so I can carry my own drinks and treats.
WOW!! What fun, plus all the girls look and bark.  I'm a tired boy, but really happy!  Mom caught this pic at the 'Messerly Rest Area'!
Woofs and slobbers to all of you!
